Anything Goes at 4 Crafty Chicks

Well, we are officially at the end of July!  This month has just flew by!  We finally have my Mom and Dad settled into their new home and between getting Isaac ready to go back to school next month and planning my Launch Party for Close To My Heart life has been extremely busy!  I guess that is what keeps us young!

Today is Thursday so you know what that means?!  It is challenge time at 4 Crafty Chicks!  This is our 5th Thursday of the month so the theme is Anything Goes.

I created this card a while back (before my hair and skin class at Kit & Clowder) but still think it is one of my favorites!  I was going for an aged look.  I colored this adorable image from the Saturated Canary with my Spectrum Noir pens and cut her out using a Spellbinders Die.  I thought I had almost ruined it when I tried doing my background but after it sat for a little bit I decided it helped give it that aged look I was going for.  Soem papers from my stash, an old piece of lace, flowers from WOC and a bow gave this one just the "right" feel.

Here is my card using this adorable guy from Tiddly Inks.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir pens and matted him to some green card stock.  The paper is from Recollections and it is actually called The Great Outdoors! Some burlap ribbon and a few dots from my stash and he will be perfect for my dad's birthday at the end of the month!

I Had The Time Of My Life

Good morning!  It is time for another great challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!  This week I get the honor of hosting the challenge and have chosen the theme of "Inspired by a Song"  This was a tough one for me!  I had so many songs running through my head!  Tamie and I even had a LONG Facebook conversation (sorry Tamie - I went in a completely different direction!)
So, for my card I picked the song "Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing.  I thought these cuties from The Paper Shelter were perfect (and that is also the name of the image!)  I colored them with my Spectrum Noir pens and fussy cut around them.  I still need to work on that hair but over all am pleased with the way they turned out!  I decided to keep this one pretty simple with just some paper, a bow and a few enamel dots.  The touch of bling at the bottom is something I picked up at the last Scrapbook Convention I went to. And the sentiment was done on the computer.

Die Cut Crazy July Issue

Good morning Friends!  Today marks the end of a long 3 day weekend.  I have spent the past 2 days helping my parents paint and clean a new house they are planning on moving into in the next couple of weeks.  Painting walls is not nearly as much fun as crafting but I do get a certain amount of satisfaction in seeing a room transform itself with just a little bit of color!

Today I want to share with you my submission from this months issue of Die Cut Crazy Magazine.  The July issue is now available and is jam packed with some fantastic projects!  This issue is all about Summer.

When I think of summer I think about all the family get gatherings and BBQ's, the kids being home and just simply enjoying time together.
I created this birthday card using the bright colors of summer.(although Lacie's birthday is in December!)  All of the lettering was cut with vinyl using the following Cricut cartridges:  Chalkboard Font, Kate's ABC's, and Straight From The Nest.  (tip:  The vinyl makes using the Chalkboard font much easier!)  I layers a piece of black cardstock on top of my white card base and added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The banner was cut using a paper pack from my stash and the bows were from scrap as well.
So be sure to check out this months edition of

Fun in the Sun

Good morning Friends! Thanks for stopping by today!  To all my American Friends - Happy 4th of July!  Yay for a 3 day weekend!
Last weekend we went to Indiana for my son's first Professional Bowling Tournament!  It was a long weekend but lots of fun.  I really enjoyed watching him bowl with some of the best bowlers in the country!  He didn't win but he didn't get last either!  We are just so proud of all he has accomplished!

On to today's project:  This darling stamp is called My Summer Hat and she is one of the new stamps from Crafty Sentiments.  Isn't she just the most adorable thing?
I have been taking the Skin and Hair class that Alyce at Kit and Clowder has (If you ever thought about taking a class - she is fantastic!)  I think I am actually getting better!  I colored this cutie with my Spectrum Noir pens and fussy cut around her. Some pattern paper, flowers and ribbon from my stash and she was complete.  I just love the bright colors and she was so much fun to color!

Ahoy Matey!

Good morning friends! Today begins a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Leann is our wonderful hostess and she is wanting to see cards with a nautical theme.  When I found this cute little sailor from La La Land Crafts I knew he would be perfect for this challenge!  Then while out shopping I came across this great pattern paper and Anchor die and knew this card was going to be perfect for a 4th of July card!

I colored my little sailor with my Spectrum Noir pens and fussy cut him out.  The pattern paper is all from The Paper Studio and the Anchor die is from Spellbinders.  Some card stock and home made enamel dots and this little guy was finished!

Here is a close up of this little cutie:
