It's Summertime!

Good morning! Thursday already?  Wow!

We have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks today! Lori is our hostess and she chose the theme SUMMER.

Now, I have so many really nice "summer" stamps, but then I thought  it was time to mix it up a bit and do something different!

For some reason these flowers just called to me!  I cut them out from my Cricut Explore.  The bright colors just make me think of hot summer days!  The wave of black made me think of water (I know I can be a little strange!)

The entire card is made from scraps from my stash and the candy dots are homemade from pony beads.  The sentiment is an old Stampin' Up stamp embossed with black embossing powder.  This is the first long card I have made in years!  I just may have to make a few more like this!

So head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and join us for our SUMMER challenge!

With Sympathy

Good morning!  It's Thursday again so be sure to hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks for another great challenge!

Tamie is our hostess over there this week and she chose Sympathy as our theme.  These are probably the hardest cards for me to make.  I usually buy them because I can never seem to figure out what to do.  But, after looking around Pinterest I came across some great inspiration and decided on this one:

The stamps are old Stampin' Up  sets.  I stamped with black ink and then added touches of white gel pin to the flowers.  The ribbon is from Close To My Heart.

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Sympathy card today.  This challenge may just help us all add to our stash for those hard to make cards.

Chevrons at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning!  Today is Thursday so that means another great challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks!  This week I get to be hostess!  I decided on the theme CHEVRONS.  I love all the crafty things with the chevron pattern I see!  Papers, Embossing Folders, Ribbon! I love it all!!

So, here is my project for the challenge :

I found this great paper at the CKC Convention in April.  I wish I had bought more!  The candy dots are from Michael's and the ribbon is from my stash.  The image is from Cheryl Lynn Designs.

So what are you waiting for?  Head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project today!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Mother's Day

Good morning!  Wow! Can you believe it is May already!?  I just don't know where the time goes anymore!  Today my son will be home from college for the summer and my quiet clean house will be no more - but I wouldn't trade it for anything!  I love having him home because I know it will be over long before I am ready to send him back!

Today is Thursday so we have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Leanne is our hostess and she definitely had a challenge for us this week!  Her challenge was to make a Mothers Day Card using the following recipe:  3 layers, 2 images and 1 color!  So, after thinking about it for a bit here is what I came up with:

It had been quite a while since I sat down to color so I am a little out of practice!  Going to have to have a coloring day soon!

My take on the recipe:  3 layers - (I have my base card stock, 2 pattern papers and then my images on top); 2 images -( well I guess you can see them!) and 1 color (I didn't intentionally pick orange but after I colored my images that just seemed to be the logical choice!)

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Mothers Day Recipe card today!

See you soon!
