Anything Goes at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning!  Boy am I off this week!  I completely forgot about my post (and project)!
Today is Thursday  so we have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks

Tamie is our hostess - and since it is the 5th Thursday of the month the theme is

ANYTHING GOES

Well, like I said, I completely forgot this week!  (Not sure where my brain went!)  So, with that being said, I am going to show you a project that one of my best friends made for me

(sorry for the poor quality photo)

She made these slippers using a pair of flip flops as the base then crocheted the slipper onto them!  They are so comfy!

So, head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your ANYTHING GOES project today!

See you soon!

In Everything Give Thanks

Good morning!  We are getting into that time of year when the leaves start to turn, the air gets cooler and the fall decorations emerge!  This is my favorite time of year!

Lori is our hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week and she gave us the following challenge:

Colors of Autumn

Like I said, this is my favorite time of year!  So, I have began trying a new craft - Quilting- I have always admired the beautiful designs of quilts but didn't think I could do it myself.  So, I decided to start small - with a place mat!

I made this place mat and then embroidered on it with my embroidery machine then quilted it on the sewing machine.  I made a matching towel using my embroidery machine as well.  It really wasn't a hard project but I think I need to practice cutting our my material before I tackle the baby quilt I want to make for my soon to be here grand baby!

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Colors of Autumn project today!

We can't wait to see what you create!

See yo soon!

Butterfly Birthday

Good morning!  Welcome back!  Today is Thursday so that means a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Tamie is our lovely and talented hostess this week and she wanted to see us use

TWINE

on our cards. Well, this isn't something I pull our often so I had a lot of fun with this challenge!

I actually CASED this card from https://www.pinterest.com/source/lysaq.blogspot.com  on Pinterest.  I'm not sure but she may have CASED is from somewhere else too.  I love the simplicity of this design.  I colored my butterfly with watercolor markers and then added some glitter.  Cut it out and glued it to the front of my card. A white gel pen was used for the "stitching"   The inside has another butterfly and a small quote "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, It's the Life in your years.  - Abraham Lincoln"

So head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your card today using TWINE.
We can't wait to see what you create!
While you are there be sure to leave some love for the rest of the Chicks!  They are just awesome!

See you soon,

Tina

Fussy Cutting

Good morning!  August was a very busy month with my daughter getting married and my son going back to school - but I'M BACK!!!

The wedding was simply beautiful - the weather ended up perfect and everything went as planned. (does that ever happen?)

Here is a picture of my beautiful daughter and her handsome new husband:

The week after the wedding my son went back to school for his senior year of college, but isn't he a handsome guy:

OK, on to some crafting!

This week at 4 Crafty Chicks Leanne is our hostess and she gave us the challenge of

FUSSY CUTTING

A few months ago I went to a Scrapbook Convention in St. Louis with some friends - I found the neatest stamps from Art Impressions.  They are called Fronts and Backs.  The only thing I didn't like about them was the fussy cutting!  (LOL)

Aren't they just adorable!  I colored them with my Spectrum Noirs and cut them out and put them together.  I stamped the fence twice (one on front and one on back) then cut the card down to match. I embossed the back with a cloud embossing die and ink.

We are also having a Guest Design call - so be sure to enter GDT after your name if you would like to play with us in the Hen House!

OK, so head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your FUSSY CUTTING project today!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

See you soon!
