4CC - Swirly Pearls

Good morning!

Today, I write this with tears in my eyes as it will be my last post for 4 Crafty Chicks.  I am very sad to leave, but life is just too busy for me to continue.  I have had such a wonderful time with Leanne, Lori and Tamie.  I value the wonderful friendships that we have made and I will miss them terribly!

Leanne, Lori, and Tamie - know that I love you all dearly and think of you as my Canadian Sisters!  I will miss our wonderful conversations and all the fun that we have had over the last few years!

So, with that being said - here is my final project for 4 Crafty Chicks:

Leanne is our wonderful hostess and she gave us the following challenge:

SWIRLY PEARLS

As you can see, I didn't follow directions very well as I used gems instead of pearls!  But I did this cigar box for a dear friend (my second daughter) for her birthday to hold some of her college memories in.

So, one final time - head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and play along with Leanne's challenge.  While you are there, be sure to leave lots of love to the wonderful ladies - they are so very talented and really just a great group of ladies.

Again, I love you all and will miss you greatly - but - I will not be gone forever!

See you soon!

Happy Birthday!

Good Morning!  Welcome back once again!

Today is Thursday so of course we have a brand new challenge up at 4 Crafty Chicks!
Lori is our hostess this week and she gave us the following challenge:

COLORING ON KRAFT

So, I broke out the colored pencils and got to work.  It just happens to be my Grandmother's 93rd Birthday so I thought this would be perfect!

Coloring on Kraft paper is not something I do very often, but I love the end result!

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and give it a try!  The Chicks have out done themselves this week with the wonderful inspiration so be sure to leave them some love!

Orange and Black

Good morning!

Today I get to play hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks!

I decided on the following theme:

ORANGE AND BLACK

When I set this theme I was thinking about Fall and Halloween - however,  I needed a thinking of you card for my husbands Uncle as he recovers from open heart surgery and decided on a quick and simple card:

Not very exciting - but the embossed layer does add a little something I guess.  (I really need to step up my game!!)

Anyway, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and check out the wonderful creations the other chicks have!  While you are at it be sure to play along!

Die Cuts

Good morning!  Welcome back!  OK, so this week I was a little more on top of things!

We have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week - along with a New Guest Designer for the month!

Please welcome Karen from http://karen-mycuprunnethover.blogspot.ca/.

So, this week Leanne is hostess and she asked us to create a card using

DIE CUTS.

So this is pretty CAS for me as I didn't add anything to it!  I needed a quick sympathy card for a friend that lost his mom - noting too frilly but not to drab either.  I think I put this together in under 5 minutes.  Sympathy cards are just so hard for me!

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your card today using die cuts.

See you soon!

Today is Thursday  so we have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks

Tamie is our hostess - and since it is the 5th Thursday of the month the theme is

Well, like I said, I completely forgot this week!  (Not sure where my brain went!)  So, with that being said, I am going to show you a project that one of my best friends made for me

(sorry for the poor quality photo)

She made these slippers using a pair of flip flops as the base then crocheted the slipper onto them!  They are so comfy!

In Everything Give Thanks

Good morning!  We are getting into that time of year when the leaves start to turn, the air gets cooler and the fall decorations emerge!  This is my favorite time of year!

Lori is our hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week and she gave us the following challenge:

Colors of Autumn

Like I said, this is my favorite time of year!  So, I have began trying a new craft - Quilting- I have always admired the beautiful designs of quilts but didn't think I could do it myself.  So, I decided to start small - with a place mat!

I made this place mat and then embroidered on it with my embroidery machine then quilted it on the sewing machine.  I made a matching towel using my embroidery machine as well.  It really wasn't a hard project but I think I need to practice cutting our my material before I tackle the baby quilt I want to make for my soon to be here grand baby!

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Colors of Autumn project today!

We can't wait to see what you create!

Butterfly Birthday

Good morning!  Welcome back!  Today is Thursday so that means a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Tamie is our lovely and talented hostess this week and she wanted to see us use

TWINE

on our cards. Well, this isn't something I pull our often so I had a lot of fun with this challenge!

I actually CASED this card from https://www.pinterest.com/source/lysaq.blogspot.com  on Pinterest.  I'm not sure but she may have CASED is from somewhere else too.  I love the simplicity of this design.  I colored my butterfly with watercolor markers and then added some glitter.  Cut it out and glued it to the front of my card. A white gel pen was used for the "stitching"   The inside has another butterfly and a small quote "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, It's the Life in your years.  - Abraham Lincoln"

So head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your card today using TWINE.
We can't wait to see what you create!
While you are there be sure to leave some love for the rest of the Chicks!  They are just awesome!

See you soon,

Fussy Cutting

Good morning!  August was a very busy month with my daughter getting married and my son going back to school - but I'M BACK!!!

The wedding was simply beautiful - the weather ended up perfect and everything went as planned. (does that ever happen?)

Here is a picture of my beautiful daughter and her handsome new husband:

The week after the wedding my son went back to school for his senior year of college, but isn't he a handsome guy:

OK, on to some crafting!

This week at 4 Crafty Chicks Leanne is our hostess and she gave us the challenge of

FUSSY CUTTING

A few months ago I went to a Scrapbook Convention in St. Louis with some friends - I found the neatest stamps from Art Impressions.  They are called Fronts and Backs.  The only thing I didn't like about them was the fussy cutting!  (LOL)

Aren't they just adorable!  I colored them with my Spectrum Noirs and cut them out and put them together.  I stamped the fence twice (one on front and one on back) then cut the card down to match. I embossed the back with a cloud embossing die and ink.

We are also having a Guest Design call - so be sure to enter GDT after your name if you would like to play with us in the Hen House!

OK, so head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your FUSSY CUTTING project today!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

See you soon!

All That Glitters

Welcome back once again!

It's Thursday and we are already almost done with July!  Where is the summer going?  Only a few more weeks until the wedding! I still have so much to do!

This week over at 4 Crafty Chicks Tamie is our beautiful hostess.  She gave us the following theme:

ALL THAT GLITTERS

(sorry for the horrible photo)
I created this card using black ink and then embossing it with a glue pen and glitter.  Its really hard to see but "Life and Smile" are both covered in a blue glitter.

Head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your glittery project today!

Flowers

Good morning!  This week I get to play hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  I decided on the following theme:

FLOWERS

Pretty Easy right?!

During Mother's Day my church holds a wonderful dinner to honor all of the mothers in our church.  One woman is selected to be Mother Of The Year.  This year I received that honor!  I was so surprised!  What surprised me even more was my beautiful daughter being able to come home!  I had no idea she was going to be there and when they announced my name and I stood up there she was!  What a wonderful surprise!
At the dinner letters were read from my husband, son and Mother in law and my daughter read a beautiful letter from herself.  I made this box to hold all of those wonderful memories.  I used a wooden cigar box and covered it in card stock then decorated it with flowers and frames with photos of my children.  I feel so blessed to have such great kids!

So, show us your flowers over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week!  I can't wait to see what you do!

Summer!

Good morning!  We have sure had a lot of heat lately!  But it is perfect for this weeks challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks!  Leanne is our hostess and she chose the following theme:

SUMMER

I just love this image - maybe because it is called "Lacie's Icecream" and that is my daughter's name!   But it looks like she is enjoying a summer treat and even has her shades ready for the sun!

So, if you would like to play along head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your "Summer" card today!

Good morning!  Welcome back again this week!
This week over at 4 Crafty Chicks I get to play hostess!  Since it is our 5th Thursday of the month our theme is always ANYTHING GOES!

This is also the last week for our wonderful guest designer - Melanie.  It was so fun to create with you this month!  I hope to see you around lots more!!!

OK, so on to my project for the week.

Well, I have been keeping a secret from all of you!  My beautiful daughter is getting married!
I have been so busy  working on centerpeices for her wedding reception - I didn't think I had anything done for this weeks challenge - so I thought I would share what they are looking like:

Her colors are Navy, Coral and Gold.  She is wanting to keep everything as simple as possible - but even a simple mason jar looks pretty awesome when spray painted gold!  I am really enjoying getting everything ready for her special day! (I am working on invitations and will share them soon!)

So, head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your ANYTHING GOES project today!  While you are there be sure to leave some love for the other chicks and there wonderful projects!

So, I hope inspiration strikes and you come up with a card or project for Tamie's METAL challenge!

#301 Masculine

Good morning!  Today we have a new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks!
Leanne is our hostess this week AND we have a new Guest Designer!
Welcome MELANIE!
We look forward to creating with you this month!

Leanne thought we needed to fill our card stash with some Masculine cards so this weeks challenge is

#301 {MASCULINE}

My boss is an avid Duck hunter so I made this one for him for his birthday.  I really struggle with masculine cards and have to always remind myself that sometimes less is more!  The image is from one of my new favorite stamp companies - Northwoods Rubber Stamps.  I colored them with watercolor markers and even though it doesn't show in the picture - I added some glitter here and there.

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Masculine card today!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

#300 Shaker Card

Good morning!  Welcome back again this week!
This week over at 4 Crafty Chicks, Lori is our very talented hostess!  She has asked that we use the following theme:

SHAKER CARDS!

Now, let me tell you! I have never done one of these so it was really a challenge!
I went to a Scrapbook convention a few weeks ago and found what I thought would be these neat set all ready to put together.  Boy, they were hard!!!

Nothing lined up on them and the beads just wanted to stick to the backing!
Next time I try one of these I will do it on my own!

Anyway, stop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and check out the other Chicks cards!  They are AWESOME!

Anything Goes

Good morning and welcome back again this week!  Before I get started with this weeks post - I just want to take a minute to thank our lovely guest designer this month over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Nance - we loved having you!

OK, so this is the 5th Thursday of March.  That means that our theme over at 4 Crafty Chicks is

ANYTHING GOES

This week I have a special birthday treat to share with you.  My darling niece turned 3 on Easter!  I have had so much fun getting this all ready for her birthday!  She asked me for a puppy and this is what I came up with. (I warn you this is very picture heavy!)

I found a pattern at Hancock Fabrics in January and got busy.  Every time she sees me she asks if her puppy is done!

This puppy has everything!  A bed, a blanket, a bottle, a bone, a diaper (Not pictured) and even a bag for her to carry everything in!

I embroidered on the blanket the word "Princess".  It turned out so cute I had to make her a t shirt to match!

She is maybe a tiny bit spoiled by her Aunt T...  Now, wait - I'm not quite finished.  LOL.  Every birthday girl needs a special dress to wear for her party! And a cake to match the dress!

As you can see by the look on her face - she is one very happy little girl!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl - Aunt T loves you to the moon and back!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your ANYTHING GOES project today!

See You Soon!

A pretty clean and simple design as I wanted  the bright fun colors to stand out.
