I inked and embossed my image with white embossing powder then cut him out using a Spellbinders die.  The rest was just following the sketch:

Charmed

Good morning!  It's Thursday so that means another new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!  Tamie is the hostess this week and she is wanting us to use charms on our projects.

I  have finally finished all of my Christmas Cards and this is one of the many I did for some of my "primitive" female friends.  I embossed the tree with white powder on kraft card then added a bow with a little diamond "charm" they can remove and add to a necklace or bracelet.  Pretty simple but I really love this one!

So be sure to head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your "Charmed" project today!

One layer cards at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning friends!  Can you believe it is the middle of December already?!?  Where did this year go? Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping?

Today at 4 Crafty Chicks I get to be hostess and I have decided since I am working on Christmas Cards to have a one layer challenge!

For my card I used these adorable snowmen.  I can't remember where I got them or what the name is but I just love this stamp!
I colored them with watercolor pencils and added some white lace Stickles for the snow effect.  It was a pretty quick and simple card but will be perfect for mailing!

So what are you waiting for?  Head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your one layer card today!

See you soon!

Happy Feet!

Good morning!  Happy Birthday to my baby brother!!!  Well, I guess at 39 he is not really a baby anymore!

Today Leanne is our hostess over at 4 Crafty  Chicks and she wants to see some Animals!  This one was a little hard for me as I don't do many cards with animals, but during that shopping trip a few weeks ago I came across this adorable little penguin stamp and I just could not resist him!

I stamped him twice.  The first one I cut out using a Spellbinders die and the second I used the matching die cut.  I colored both images and then popped the die cut image up with pop dots. I embossed the blue layer with my snowflake embossing folder and added some ribbon.  Another quick, simple Christmas card done!

So my "first" animal card is complete!  I have a feeling this little guy will be in the mail box soon to someone very special!

So head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and show us your Animal card today!

See you soon!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Good morning friends!  Happy Thanksgiving!  Today we will be heading to my husbands family for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.  Bring on the Pumpkin Pie!

Today at 4 Crafty Chicks Lori is our hostess and she is wanting us to use die cuts.  For my card I really kept it simple.  Remember my shopping trip a couple of weeks ago?  Well, I picked up this adorable Snow Man set at my Close To My Heart uplines booth.  It is called Christmas Post.  This is just one of the beautiful images from this set!  I simply stamped the image with Black Momento ink and cut it out using a Spellbinders die.  I embossed the black layer with a new embossing folder and love how it came out with the white! (sometimes accidents are good things!)  A little bit of ribbon and this Christmas card is ready to mail!

Not really a traditional Christmas card but I love the black and white!

So, be sure to head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and show us your project using Die Cuts today!

See you soon!

Anything Goes at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning Friends!  I sure am running late this week!  First, I made a beautiful card for the challenge - then I put it somewhere and can't find it!  Then I made this beautiful wreath, took my photos - and my computer died!  OK, so what did this tell me??  I have got to get in gear and quit waiting until the last minute to come up with a fantastic project to share with you all!!

This is our 5th Thursday of October so that means the challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks is ANYTHING GOES!!

After stressing for hours over the lost card I decided to put together this wreath from the Close To My Heart Annual Idea Book.  I am just totally in love with this paper pack (Snowhaven) and love all things Christmas so this was really a pretty quick and easy project!  The Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge did all of the work for me! (Well, all but folding and gluing everything together)

And here is the finished product - hanging on my living room wall!

So, be sure to head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks -  I am sure you have the prefect card or project to share with us this week!

Also, a big thank you to Tiena for joining us as a guest designer this month! We enjoyed working and playing with you!

Color Combo at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning friends!  I hope you are enjoying the wonderful Fall weather as much as I am.  Last weekend I took a trip to Galena, IL - the fall colors were just beautiful!  I really enjoyed all the shopping and fun we had but my favorite part of the trip was all the beautiful landscape I got to see...

Today is Thursday, so it is time once again for a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  This week Lori is our hostess and she is giving us a color combo challenge:  CORAL, BLACK and WHITE.

For my card, I kept it pretty simple.  I used A Budding Friendship stamp set from Close To My Heart and cut out the flower.  I added it to a piece of black card stock and then embossed my sentiment in white.

Quick and simple!

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project today!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

4 Crafty Chicks Thursday

Good morning friends!  It has been crazy around my house this last couple of weeks!  I just don't know where the time goes! I can hardly believe we are into October already - the leaves are falling - the air is nice and crisp and all the beautiful colors of Fall are all around!

This week I am hostess at 4 Crafty Chicks and I have a recipe for everyone to follow!
1 Image - 2 Pattern Papers and 3 Bling:

I decided to use the adorable little mermaid from Simply Betty.  I colored her with my Spectrum Noir and Copic markers then added a little bit of glitter to her tail fin.  Some bright green papers, ribbon, and flowers from my stash along with some little rhinestones finished her off.

Here is a close up of this adorable mermaid.

I can tell my coloring is way out of practice but it was nice to just sit down and color!

So be sure to hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project today!

This week our lovely and talented Leanne is our hostess and she is looking for Sunshine. So show us your bright sunshine-y projects!  We can't wait to see them!

For my project (since I almost forgot what day it was this week) I have thrown together a quick simple canvas.  I painted the sun using acrylic paints and did the lettering using my Spectrum Noir pens.  A pretty quick and simple project but I know that my niece will love it!

So, be sure to hop on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and leave the rest of the girls some love!  And also a huge welcome to our guest designer this month: Tenia from Jazzy Paper Designs!  We are very excited to work with you this month!

Hostess Rewards - Thanksgiving Wreath

Good afternoon Friends!  Can you believe it is the middle of September already?  Where did this year go?
Today I wanted to share a project I made using the Close To My Heart Hostess Rewards Stamp Set - Thanksgiving Wreath.

This is actually just a 3x3 card.  I started by using the Wishes how to book.  I cut my card base at 3x6 and scored at 3 inches.  The front was done using scraps of paper from the Close To My Heart Exclusive card stock.  I stamped my sentiment with Chocolate ink and mounted it to my card using 3-D adhesive. A little bit of embroidery floss and it was complete.  A pretty simple thank you card!

Fancy Folds and Seaside Greetings

Good morning friends!  Today marks a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks and I am excited to be the hostess this week.
Our theme this week is - Fancy Folds

For my card I decided to do a simple easel card and use one of the new stamp sets from Close To My Heart - Seaside Greetings.  I also used paper from the Seaside paper pack.  I stamped my image using Pacifica ink on Indian Corn Blue card stock and matted it to a piece of Colonial White and then another piece of Indian Corn Blue.  All of this went into the center of my card base which I used Seaside to create.  A few gold triangles and some Teal Shimmer trim and this card was complete!  I don't do CAS very often and I am not really sure this qualifies, but I love the clean crisp look of this one!

Here are a couple of close ups of these great stamps:

Sewing

Good morning friends!  Can you believe we are into September already?!  Where is this year going!
Today starts a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  The lovely and talented Leanne is our hostess this week and has she got a challenge for you!  She wants to see sewing (either real or faux) on your creations.  This was really a challenge for me.  I knew I wanted to actually sew on my card, but my machine did not want to cooperate.  I ended up using my stitching guide to preset my holes and then sewed it by hand.  It actually wasn't that bad!  My layout came from the Close To My Heart Wishes book.  The paper is from the Paper Fundamentals pack Enchantment collection along with some Cocoa and Pear card stock.  The stamp set is from our September Stamp of the Month - Family is Forever and the ribbon and brads are from my stash.

It is a pretty simple design but love the way it turned out!

If you want to learn more about the products I used here visit my website here.

Be sure to hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project using sewing today!!! I can't wait to see what you have for us!

Something Old/Something New

Good morning!  I can't believe we are at the end of August already!  Only 2 more days until my big launch party!  I think I am about ready!  Now all that is left is the baking!  Sugar Cookies and Cupcakes- my kitchen will be busy tonight!

On to this weeks challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks - Lori is our wonderful hostess this week and she chose Something Old/Something New.  I had a hard time with this one then I realized I was making it hard for no reason!  At first I had envisioned this beautiful wedding card (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue) then thought - Hey I have all kinds of NEW products!  So, I made a card using all of my new Close To My Heart products and added some OLD ribbon.

I used Thistle card stock as my base and then added papers from the Scaredy Cat collection.  I cut my spider web using the Artiste cartridge and stamped using the Halloween Greeting Stamp set.  Some black enamel stars (also CTMH) and an orange bow (ribbon from my stash) and I was happy with the results.

This is one of the cards we will be making at my September card workshop.  I hope they like it!

So, hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your "Something Old/Something New" project today!  I can't wait to see what you come up with! Also, a big thank you to our guest designer this month!  We really enjoyed working with you Amy!
